About the Center for Environmental Journalism

Scenic PhotosIn the last 40 years, awareness of our impact on the Earth has grown to the point where environmental issues now are at the center of public discourse. For this to lead to informed decision-making on issues such as climate change, journalists must provide the public with timely, accurate and unbiased information, and society must better understand the nexus between media, environmental science, policy and politics.

Ted Scripps Fellowships

The CEJ is dedicated to helping working journalists deepen their knowledge of environmental issues through a variety of programs, including the Ted Scripps Fellowships in Environmental Journalism.

Graduate Program

To help train the next generation of reporters, the CEJ offers an environmental journalism emphasis within the School of Journalism and Mass Communication's master's program and doctoral program.
