Student Worker Alliance Program Wins NOVA Award

The IECE’s Student Worker Alliance Program (SWAP), received The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County’s NOVA Award on 7/29/11. Twenty–two programs were nominated. The award is a plaque by John Haertling and a $5,000 check for SWAP. This is a testament to the students who coordinate the program and the 125 student volunteers.  The NOVA Award honors innovation in programs/services or innovations in business operations, within Boulder County's non-profit sector. The NOVA Awards were established by The Community Foundation in 1997.

The Student Worker Alliance Program is a dynamic grassroots student run organization, which pairs CU students with predominantly immigrant university service workers to provide free and convenient English language classes.. We are thrilled to have this exciting and much needed program work with the institute. For more information click here!
