Semester Rentals

We are currently renting out bikes. Please click here to make an appointment for a bike.

If vou've never visited us we are at the UMC Bike Station.

Welcome to CU Semester Rentals. Our mission is to promote sustainability on campus by growing the bicycle culture at the University of Colorado and the city of Boulder. We contribute to this culture by providing a bicycle to any student, faculty or staff member who is in need of a bike for a semester.

What would you like to do?

About the Program

We provide students, faculty, and staff with a gently used but newly tuned bike on a semester by semester basis. The Semester Bike Rental Program charges a $30 rental fee (non-refundable) and a $100 deposit (refundable). If you return the bike in the same condition we gave it to you, then you receive your deposit in full! You may renew your rental for a second semester at a cost of only $10.

We have many different types of bikes from which you may choose. While we wish we could give a bike to all who request one, we have a limited supply of bikes and therefore rental bikes are given on a first come, first serve basis.

To rent a bicycle, please make an appointment with the semester rental manager.

You will be contacted via email 3 weeks before your due date as a reminder.

To return your bicycle use our key drop off box. Lock your rental to the designated Semester Bicycle Rental rack located next to the bike station or one nearby if the designated racks are full. Once you have locked your rental, fill out your information on a deposit envelope, put your key in the envelope and then drop the envelope into the Semester Bicycle Rental key drop box. (Directions are also located on the key drop box)

Once your bicycle has been returned, a Semester Bicycle Rental employee will assess any damages and deduct the appropriate amount from your deposit (if necessary). Your deposit check will be mailed to the address you provided when you returned the bicycle. Please allow 10-14 business days for processing.

We are always improving this program so if you have any questions, complaints, concerns, or suggestions, please contact us.
