Web Express Update - Font Change

A routine update to Web Express is planned for Thursday December 9th. The December release will include a change to the font used on the Web Express platform. This change will be applied automatically and no action is needed from site owners.

Font Change

The font change for Web Express is a coordinated CU System change to a new brand web font. All CU campuses will be switching from Helvetica Neue (cost per site font) to an open-source (free) web font called Roboto. Roboto has similar characteristics to the brand font Helvetica Neue and was chosen by the CU System brand board as an alternative brand font for use as a dynamic web font. The Roboto web font will only be for digital platforms. The official brand font remains Helvetica Neue and will continue to be used in campus logos, print, and graphical treatments.

Font Size Tips

Most users will not notice the change, but site owners will see a slight shift in the size and spacing of your text. The platform is designed to adjust accordingly. You can find tips for how to adjust your text in blocks and/or banners on the web central support website.

You may contact the Web Express support team for questions about the update and the new web font.
