- The American Society of Civil Engineers board of directors has established the Dan M. Frangopol Medal for Life-Cycle Engineering of Civil Structures in honor of Dan Frangopol, a distinguished CU Boulder professor emeritus with a significant career in the university’s Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering.
- Congratulations to first-prize recipient and audience favorite Rinat Erlichman—and all winners and participants in the College of Music’s premier performance competition for outstanding graduate students.
- Sixteen teams of CU faculty, researchers and graduate student innovators competed in this year’s Lab Venture Challenge. Judges from CU Boulder’s entrepreneurial network heard Shark-Tank-style pitches over two nights.

- Charles Eagan, Deb Renshaw, Rojana Savoye and Hannah Wilks have received the Chancellor’s Employee of the Year Award, which recognizes nominees for their outstanding contributions to CU Boulder.
- In recognition of his innovative research in soft condensed matter and optical physics, Professor Ivan Smalyukh has been named a Fellow of Optica.
- With the grand opening of the renovated Roe Green Theatre on Nov. 3, the university has ushered in a new era for CU Boulder’s Department of Theatre & Dance. To celebrate, the department hosted a celebratory ribbon-cutting.
- Gary Wall, a 1970 CU Boulder physics graduate, won the Los Alamos Medal in recognition of more than 50 years of distinguished work at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
