Jangbu

Dorje Tsering Chenaktsang, known by his pen name Jangbu, is a leading Tibetan poet whose writing is experimental, sophisticated, and courageous, influenced by classical Tibetan poetry and magical realism. In recent years, he has taken up directing documentary films, including Kokonor (2008) and Yartsa Rinpoche (2014).

During his visit to Boulder, Jangbu will read selected poems from his collection, The Nine-Eyed Agate (Gzi mig dgu pa), translated by Heather Stoddard, and also show and discuss his film work-in-progress, Voices of the Stone (Rdo yis kha grags pa) concerning mining in Central Tibet.
