Strategic Resources & Support - What a year this promises to be

Dear Colleagues –

I hope your semester is off to a great start! This is a vibrant time on campus – we've made it through move-in, the beginning of classes, and now we're getting into our routines for the academic year.

And what a year this promises to be!

Our Innovation Buffs teams are off and running - workshopping new ideas and testing out novel approaches to old problems. Financial Futures solution design and project phases are delivering innovative and powerful improvements to how we support the business of the university. Strategic Facilities Visioning is laying the groundwork for the next 100 years of CU Boulder and setting the stage for our next Campus Master Plan. Academic Futures has reached year three – the implementation year – and we'll be delivering on our commitment to furthering the public good.

We also have a new president who is bringing renewed focus to our planning for the fourth industrial revolution. This is an important driver of the work we do and emphasizes the importance of continuing to reimagine our day-to-day work.

At the Board of Regents meeting at the end of last week, President Kennedy presented an ambitious strategy for a three-pillared strategic plan. I am pleased that the Boulder campus will be well represented in the committees and focus groups that are forming. The President has also expressed a priority of expanded online and distance learning. We look forward to coordinating our efforts with the other campuses in the University of Colorado system in their combined efforts to deliver online education and better serve the state of Colorado. We will keep you updated on all of these initiatives and would like to hear your input. Please feel send any thoughts or feedback to my Chief of Staff, Abby Benson.

Across Strategic Resources and Support we are reimagining CU Boulder's future and fearlessly digging into how we can be even more data-informed, future-focused and customer-centric. And while all this is happening, we are still taking care of the vital day-to-day work of the university, and we're doing it well!

Throughout the year ahead, I look forward to sharing the successes – big and small – of our SRS team members. Starting at the end of this month, I'll begin sending a monthly update which will also include kudos and pride points for Strategic Resources and Support. I hope you’ll stop and take a moment to appreciate all the hard work that you have done for this campus, as well as submit success stories for future editions.

I am so proud of our team and the dedicated professionals who are committed to making our institution better every day. Thank you for the work you are doing – and will continue to do – this school year. I look forward to what we'll accomplish together.

Best wishes and Go Buffs!

Kelly
