Adminstrative eMemo - Enacting Our Commitments to Furthering the Public Good

Welcome to the new academic year!  Thank you to everyone who helped welcome our new and returning students and new faculty to campus last week. We are pleased to be starting the new academic year, the third year of Academic Futures and furthering the alignment of all our initiatives.

As we begin this year we are continuing our focus on the Academic Future priorities identified last year:

  • Creating a common student-centered approach to teaching and learning
  • Making excellence inclusive
  • Teaching and technology, online and distance education
  • Interdisciplinary teaching, research and creative work

Look for announcements about our next steps with these priorities beginning next week in Tuesday’s CU Boulder Today.

A critical aspect of our success the last several years has been exploring differing perspectives and focusing on what the future may hold. With that in mind, we encourage you to join us on Sept. 25, as we host Heather McGowan, an internationally recognized future-of-work strategist who will offer a special lecture on the future of work and learning and the role universities could or should play in shaping that future. Following that event we will host a panel discussion on our priority projects for the year ahead. Check CU Boulder Today for upcoming details of these events.

We are grateful for your work ensuring our future in service to our public mission and excited that implementation is beginning.  Let’s keep this momentum going!

With sincere thanks,
