Investigating the world’s frozen realms: that is the mission of the NSIDC, by supporting research about snow, sea ice, glaciers and climate interactions in the Earth’s cryosphere. To support such valuable information, the NSIDC owns the Green Data Center, a massive computer archive that hosts over 120 terabytes of data for researchers across the globe.
