Over a quarter of the food served in CU Boulder's dining centers is local and/or third party verified, which includes labels such as organic, fair trade, cage freeĀ and antibiotic/hormone free. To limit food waste, Dining Services donates unused food to local foodshare programs, donates produce scraps to a Boulder farm, converts cooking oil into biodieselĀ and composts pre- and post-consumer food waste, among other initiatives.
