Crystal Cyr

Dr. Crystal Cyr (she/her) serves as the Director of Student Life Center for Assessment, Insight & Research at the University of Colorado Boulder. With more than 15 years of experience in higher education, she has worked across numerous areas, including assessment and planning, research and data analytics, enrollment services, academic support, new student programs and first-year experience instruction and curriculum development at two- and four-year institutions across the country. For over 13 years, she has led and supported strategic planning and outcomes-based assessment at the unit, division and institutional levels.
As a first-generation, low-income college graduate, Crystal is deeply committed to advancing equitable access and success in higher education. She brings an equity- and humanity-centered leadership philosophy to her work. In her role at CU Boulder, she empowers student affairs professionals to use data with integrity and authenticity, ensuring programs and services are informed by evidence and designed to enhance the student experience.
Crystal is an active member of the ACPA Commission for Assessment and Evaluation Directorate Board and Student Affairs Assessment Leaders (SAAL). She is also a leader in campus shared governance, advocating for staff well-being, pay equity, and institutional policies that support staff success.
She holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership for Educational Equity from the University of Colorado Denver, a Master of Arts in Leadership: Student Affairs in Higher Education from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Keene State College.
