Cole Wise named advisor to CU Student Government
Cole Wise has accepted the advisor to CU Student Government (CUSG) position. This is a new position developed in collaboration between CUSG and Student Affairs to provide more support and mentorship to student leaders within their roles in Student Government, while also providing additional support within CUSG Proper and the Cost Centers. Cole comes to CU Boulder from Colorado State University Fort Collins and brings extensive knowledge of working with and in student government, advising student government and administering a $56 million student fee budget. Cole’s passion lies in supporting student leaders with an empathetic, thoughtful approach and is driven to build relationships and connections with these students so that their experiences are meaningful and productive during their time in student government.
Stephanie Baldwin named director for Fraternity and Sorority Life
Stephanie Baldwin has accepted the offer to be the director for Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL). With over 10 years of experience directly working with the students in the College Panhellenic, Multicultural Greek Council and the university-recognized CU Interfraternity Council, Steph is looking forward to working with all stakeholders including campus, community and national partners to ensure the FSL remains a relevant part of the student experience. She believes that the fraternal experience is important part of the campus environment and it is a place where students can build connections, find a place to belong and gain skills that will serve them well in the future. We have the potential to be the best FSL community in the country and Steph is honored to lead the charge.
Denean Hill named director for Student Legal Services
Denean Hill has accepted the offer to be director of Student Legal Services (SLS). She has been with SLS since 2009 and served as interim director from January 2020 through March 2021. She brings to the role her years of serving the legal needs of students, working with CUSG and Student Affairs, an excellent rapport with the campus and local legal communities and nearly 20 years of experience as an attorney. She and her staff are excited to continue helping students resolve or minimize their legal situations so they can focus on school and providing educational programming to students that will help them avoid legal problems in the future.
Challenge Course Experience
Looking for ways to bring your team or group back together in person or virtually? The Challenge Program is booking student, faculty and staff groups for the summer. The Challenge Course Experience provides a fun and safe environment for groups to work together, learn about one another and reach group and individual goals. Volunteers needed for residence hall move-out
Residence Life is seeking assistance from CU Boulder staff and faculty in closing the residence halls at the end of the semester on Monday, May 10. Volunteers will be asked to enter student rooms to assess for damages in partnership with a Residence Life staff member, photograph any damage and document it on the Room Condition form. In some instances, support may be needed to remove abandoned property and/or trash left in the student rooms. Learn more and sign up to volunteer.
Volunteer for vaccine distribution
The Pandemic Response Office is in need of volunteers to assist with wayfinding and directional support at CU vaccine clinics. Volunteers will assist with answering questions about the process and directing people where to go for their vaccine. Volunteers may also be asked to review forms for completion, provide instructions and disinfect clipboards and pens (gloves provided). Additional clinic dates are added regularly.
