June VC Spotlight Award winners

These individuals were all nominated for going above and beyond their normal call of duty. We are grateful for their work and dedication to moving the mission of our division forward each and every day.

Craig Kuehnert

Residence Life

Craig's nominator said: "Craig has been integral to Residence Life's ability to deliver quality customer service to the families and students that we serve. He has helped coordinate messaging, FAQs, the move out process - all while conducting his day-to-day functions as an associate director. What I appreciate the most is that even in the chaos and on the busiest of days, he still asks me how I am doing and what I need. He is also kind and patient in his communication. He is also a logistics and customer service expert. I am so fortunate to have someone who is calm, kind and thoughtful during a time like this. He asks great questions, and can focus on the issues at hand." Thank you, Craig!

Maggie Shelton and Lucy Vogt

Center for Student Involvement (CSI)

Maggie and Lucy's nominator said: "Maggie and Lucy both work for CSI and have taken initiative to reach out to colleagues and identify ways to support and engage students through virtual programming, leadership, recognition and student org activities. Maggie reached out nationally to ask what departments were planning for appreciation, recognition and other events/programs virtually. She received responses from 200 campuses and then organized a Zoom call with breakout rooms for 170 attendees. She quickly learned the technology to facilitate a dialogue and collaboration that is needed. Lucy reached out to her Pac12 colleagues to ask if they would be willing to help connect similar student organizations at the campuses with each other. There has been some student interest in this initiative as well. Both Maggie and Lucy are looking at what can be done now to support students’ development, to help students prepare for the remote and virtual world that will occur more frequently and to identify options for how CSI can support students and student orgs remotely in the future." Thank you, Maggie and Lucy!

Jenny Diederich

Medical Services

Jenny's nominator said: "Jenny is a nurse in Medical Services and over the past month she has been working nights and weekends to outreach to patients affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Her attention to detail and her organizational skills, alongside with her amazing patient care, have been vital skills during this time. She is also a part-time student at CU and her ability to connect with students while providing them excellent patient care is admirable." Thank you, Jenny!
