March VC Spotlight Winners
These individuals were all nominated for going above and beyond the normal call of duty even before we entered unprecedented times. We are grateful for their work and dedication to moving the mission of our division forward each and every day.
Gloria Brisson and Ann Mattson, Medical Services
For over two months now, Gloria and Ann have been serving as joint incident commanders and advising the campus on all aspects of COVID-19. As we know, the global health concern over COVID-19 has grown significantly, as the situation is constantly evolving and the illness continues its global spread.
With more cases emerging in the United States, campus emergency preparations have become increasingly important. Gloria and Ann have been essentially on-call non-stop for the last four weeks. They're attending countless meetings, participating in daily check-in phone calls, liaising between campus and various local, county, and state agencies, fielding phone calls from concerned parents, and advising on and enacting campus communications and emergency preparedness protocols. All the while, both have maintained their leadership and supervisory roles, dealing with everything from performance evaluations and planning to compassionately supporting the entire staff of Medical Services.
For their continual efforts toward mitigating risk to our campus from COVID-19, their ability to remain calm under extreme pressure, and their unfailing commitment as compassionate and capable leaders and supervisors during challenging times, they both deserve this recognition.
Argelia Bujanda, Housing Facilities Services
Argelia’s nominator wrote “There is no job too large or too small for her attention. And when she approaches her work, she gives every job her very best effort. Argelia also anticipates the needs of our community. Safety, professionalism, hard work, attention to detail and kindness are Argelia's hallmarks. She is extremely positive, and it is an absolute pleasure to know and work with her.”

Rick’s nominator wrote “Rick’s work is done to absolute perfection. When a request is submitted, Rick arrives promptly, talks to the requester to ensure they understand our requirements, and then quickly gets the job done. Without exception, Rick is courteous, professional and respectful about getting us back to work without interrupting the day-to-day business needs.”
