Roots of The Freshman Engineering Council
The Freshman Engineering Council (FEC) was created in 2016 by the University of Colorado Engineering Council (UCEC) in order to reach out to the newest members of the college's family. As a fairly new organization, the identity and purpose that drives the council is constantly changing, because are consistently changing our approach to new problems and challenges to bring the best experience possible to those we serve: The students of the University of Colorado
Purpose of the Council
While not explicit, our primary focus is on the incoming freshman students here at CU. This first year is critical for establishing an identity and persona here that will carry into the rest of their years here, thus our primary directive is to assist students with succeeding in classes, getting involved in student organizations and around the university campus, as well as taking the critical first steps to a bright future here at CU. To date, this has been done using a vairiety of means, mainly social gatherings, study sessions, and sperading the name around campus through various forms of marketing and advertising. These methods may change as time continues on; our intent and purpose remain the same.
