Laura Edlin is the Executive Director of Employee Experience, Policy, and Compliance for the Division of Student Life at CU Boulder, a role she has held since June 2018. She originally joined CU Boulder in 2012, working in the campus Human Resources office with a focus on Employee Relations. In her current position, Laura leads a team dedicated to overseeing the HR functions for the division, managing all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, pay equity and employee engagement and retention. Additionally, Laura plays a key role in policy development and compliance, ensuring education and understanding are central to decision-making within the division.
Laura holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Boston College. After a gap year in Australia and New Zealand, she began her career in the travel industry before relocating to Boulder, CO, in 2002. There, she worked in the ski and snowboard industry, organizing group trips for graduate schools. Laura later earned a master's degree in couples and family therapy from CU Denver while also working for a growing non-profit organization in Boulder. As the non-profit expanded, she took on HR responsibilities, which sparked her passion for the field.
Dedicated to supporting individuals in navigating workplace challenges, Laura enjoys helping organizations align their talent with their strategic goals. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her two children, exploring the great outdoors and enjoying activities like hiking, skiing and biking in Boulder’s beautiful surroundings.
