Buffs Save Lives and Romp the Rams!

The first blood drive of the 2018-2019 academic year invoked an in-state rivalry between CU and CSU. CU proved to be a winner both on the football field (with a convincing 45-13 victory over the Rams at Broncos Stadium at Mile High!) and with the blood drive. CU triumphed over CSU with an outstanding 328 units for the Buffs vs. 146 units for CSU. With 474 units of blood collected overall, the efforts of donors at both schools will save or enhance the lives of up to 1,422 Coloradans.
Other impressive numbers from the CU blood drive:
- 892 presenting & registered donors
- 328 units collected
- 187 first-time donors
While both campuses are bustling with positive energy from the start of a new school year, the success of the blood drive and the number of lives saved outshines even the strongest of campus rivalries.
Please save the date for our next blood drive: October 30th - November 1st
