The Minor in Portuguese consists of 18 credits.
Required Portuguese Courses:
- PORT 2110 Second Year Portuguese I
or PORT 2350 Portuguese for Romance Language Speakers - PORT 2120 Second Year Portuguese 2
- PORT 3003 Advanced Portuguese Language Skills
- PORT 3230 Lusophone Cultures: Brazil, Portugal and Lusophone Africa or equivalent
- PORT 4110 Brazilian Literature
- PORT 4150 Literature of the Portuguese Speaking World
Suggested Portuguese Course:
- Global Seminar in Portugal: Complete your Global Diversity requirement while exploring the differing neighborhoods of the multicultural city of Lisbon
PORT 3170 Lisbon as a Global City: Past, Present and Future
- All Summer 2023 participants will receive a $500 scholarship
- Explore the cosmopolitan and multicultural city of Lisbon.
- Experience different backgrounds and cultures in order to promote social awareness and inclusiveness.
- Engage with local students studying similar topics in Lisbon
- Visit Algarve, Setúbal and Ria Formosa Natural Park
- This is a faculty sponsored Global Seminar to Lisbon (Portugal) offered through CU Education Abroad Program
Cumulative GPA for Portuguese courses must be at least 2.0. Requires C- or better for a course to apply to requirements.
Transfer credit must be approved by the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies.
A maximum of two courses can be taken abroad; this may be in addition to transfer credits.
