People discussing a book

SLHS Diversity and Inclusion Committee invites interested members of our community to a two-meeting book club discussion of the book How to be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi. The full text of the book is available online through the CU libraries.   All members of our community – faculty, staff, research associates, undergraduate students and graduate students -- are encouraged to participate.

The book club discussions will be focused on understanding and digesting the content and terminology in the book.  The first meeting will focus on Chapters 1 through 9 and the second meeting will focus on Chapters 10 through 18.  To facilitate different schedules, we will have two sections of the book club.  Please note: it is fine to mix and match your attendance of the sections, and it is also fine to attend just one or both of the meetings.

We’d love to put you on the email list for the links for these sessions. Please fill out the SLHS Book Club Interest form to get on the email list--- signing up does not commit you to coming to the book club but will keep you in the loop about it!

Participants can request accommodations by emailing Pramila Patel.  For sign language interpreting and real-time captioning requests should be made seven days in advance of an event.
