Biography

Jack Burns is Professor Emeritus of Astrophysics and Associate Director of the Colorado Space Policy Center at the University of Colorado Boulder. He is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Astronomical Society (AAS), and the International Academy of Astronautics. Jack was a member of the NASA Presidential Transition Team in 2016/17 and has also served as Vice President and Treasurer of the AAS. He was Chair of the Science Committee for the NASA Advisory Council. Jack is a recipient of NASA’s Exceptional Public Service Medal.
