Scientists from the University of Colorado Boulder (CU), United States Geological Survey (USGS), National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP) at Northern Arizone University (NAU), and Yukon River Inter-Tribal Watershed Council (YRITWC) recently launched a five-year collaborative project with a series of six talks at the Alaska Forum on the Environment in Anchorage, Alaska. An artist sketched the series of talks on the theme Climate Sensitivity of Yukon Rivers, Fish and Communities. The conference was the team’s first opportunity to connect with leaders of indigenous communities. Interest was high with 31 community representatives signing up for more information on how to become involved in the project.
