RASEI is a distributed community spread across the CU Boulder and NREL campuses, we have a strong presence throughout both organizations. The central RASEI administration shares a >400,000 square foot collaborative space with a diverse community of CU Boulder, federal, and entrepreneurial partners in SEEC, the Sustainability, Energy, and Environment Community building. SEEL, the Sustainability, Energy, and Environment Laboratories, is a LEED-certified research building connected to SEEC, housing modern shared lab spaces that includes cutting-edge analytical instrumentation and synthesis facilities.

The building has been designed to foster community, generate interaction across the diverse teams of researchers present and provide space to host conferences and collaboration. The large range of facilities available to researchers in this space is an excellent resource to advance their investigations.

CU-FEMM

CU Facility for Electron Microscopy of Materials

CU-FEMM, Directed by RASEI Fellow Sadegh Yazdi, houses state-of-the-art electron microscopes, capable of studying the structure and chemistry at the atomic scale. Instruments include a Tecnai ST20 and a Titan Themis S/TEM. The Titan Themis 300, which is equipped for probe aberration correction, is unique within the region for obtaining atomic-resolution images and elemental maps. You can find out more about the instrumentation available in CU-FEMM and how you can get trained to access this equipment at the CU-FEMM website.
