The world must halt its increase in greenhouse gases within the next three years, cut them by 43% in the next seven, and eliminate them entirely by 2050 to avoid catastrophic and irreversible climate change impacts this century.

This discussion involving RASEI fellows Chuck Kutscher and Oano Luca provides some context around the report released this week by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the third in a trilogy. There are some dire warnings in this report that the global community needs to make some immediate changes. The discussion involves Max Boykoff from CIRES, Chair of the Department of Environmental Studies at CU Boulder and a contributing author on the report, and Lisa Dilling, Professor of Environmental Studies at CU Boulder. This discussion highlights some of the key take aways from this report, how teams at CU Boulder are working on these challenges and methods in which everyone can get involved in making the change.
