Who am I? / ¿quién soy yo

My name is Alondra Palomino and I am a student at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am a first generation student and the daughter of undocumented parents. My godparents have always emphasized the importance of attaining an education and I believe that everyone has the right to have the opportunity. When I was applying to college it was hard for me to find guidance and resources since my godparents had never gone through it, they tried their best.

What / Que:

I was fortunate enough to receive the Puksta scholarship, which gives students an opportunity to create civic engagement projects that give back to the community. My project has been working on parent workshops that go over college basics such as financial aid, the application process, tips and tricks and provides resources to parents so they feel prepared to join their students on their college journey.
