Animals by Ingela Arrhenius

Tactile enhancements to Animals by Ingela Arrhenius were created by students in the Pre-Collegiate Summer Camp at University of Colorado - Boulder in 2018.

Designer Note:

For our project, we decided to create a tactile vocabulary book for children ages 3-5 years old. Due to limited amount of time, our team could only produce an eight page book. The team spent six hours to produce our 3D designs, 2 hours to write in Braille, and the remaining time to assemble and perfect our books. One thing we struggled most with was the sizing of our animals. We could not proportionally adjust all of the animals, because we had different scalings when we were designing. However, this taught us, for future reference, to double check our scalings and every minor detail. The project as a whole, gave us an unforgettable experience. Not only did it expose us to a whole other perspective, it also gave us a chance to apply our knowledge in a meaningful and impactful way.
