Current PhD Student
Department of Linguistics

I am an MA student in the Department of Linguistics, with Bachelor’s Degrees in Linguistics and French from the University of Oklahoma. My main area of interest is analyzing the intersections of language, politics, and identity in South Asia; but I am broadly interested in other topics under the umbrellas of sociolinguistics and linguistic anthropology. I am also interested in the effects of language policies and ideologies on indigenous groups. I have worked on various Indian languages in a number of “traditional” lingustic contexts, as well as having spent significant time conducting ethnographic work with the Santhal tribal group in parts of Eastern India.
