Graduated with MA in 2017
I am a Master's student in the Department of Linguistics, with a certificate in Cognitive Science. My previous undergraduate work (University of California San Diego) focused on educational technology and user interface from a social theory approach, focusing on structure and agency. My current M.A. work, also in the field of technology, examines speech and human-computer-interaction with Artificial Intelligent Assistants (Siri), looking specifically at "bad" words through conversational analysis. My work falls within the theoretical frameworks of Indexicality, enregisterment, activity theory, containment strategies, and incitement.
