Bingjuan Xiong is a PhD candidate in the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her research interests include language and social interaction, (inter-)cultural communication, new medial and political communication, comparative rhetoric, and Asian communication theory. Her dissertation project seeks to understand Internet-mediated social change in contemporary China through analyses of membership categories of citizenship in Chinese public discourse.
