  • DEPARTMENT OF LINGUISTICS

I am a Master’s student in the Department of Linguistics; my path here was somewhat indirect. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama with majors in International Relations and Spanish and a minor in Environmental Studies. I then earned my Juris Doctrate from the Univeristy of Alabama School of Law. My interest in linguistics arises from those two backgrounds: language and the environment, and the law. I am particularly interested in whether languages have preferred constructions for environmental discourse and how those constructions are employed by environmental laws to regulate the behavior of multiple states, and across languages.
