Dr. Jessica Hoehn is the current director of PISEC. She received her PhD in Physics from CU Boulder, studying ontological, epistemological, and social aspects of student reasoning in quantum mechanics, and subsequently conducted research on writing in undergraduate physics lab classes and students' views about the process of experimental physics. She volunteered for PISEC for several years as a graduate student and is thrilled to be back as the director of this fantastic program. Current research interests include investigating the potential of science communication to support students' science identity development, documenting the longterm impacts of PISEC on student participants, and embedding discussions of equity and inclusion into formal and informal physics education environments.
