Marisa Jergensen

  • Commuting Buffs Coordinator
  • PROFESSIONAL STAFF

As a first-year student at CU Boulder, Marisa commuted from Arvada, Colorado rather than taking the traditional route of on-campus housing. She began her first on-campus job as a Commuter Peer Mentor the following year, and she continued working in the Commuting Buffs program throughout her college career before starting her full-time position in May 2023. Marisa has personal experience commuting as a CU student, and understands the benefits and setbacks that commuting can bring. Now, as the Commuting Buffs Coordinator, Marisa oversees the Commuting Buffs program, which helps commuter students succeed during their years at CU.

In her role, Marisa oversees the Commuter Peer Mentors, who are upperclassmen with commuting experience that assist student’s transition into CU while living off-campus and commuting from close and far! She also manages the Commuter Lounge on campus, which is a community space for undergraduate commuter students to relax, study, ask questions and enjoy free events.
