Connecting Ground Dialogue

Monday, Oct. 19 | 2 - 3 p.m

The Connecting Ground dialogue is a great way for you to meet other transfer students and share about your experiences adjusting to CU Boulder while living through the challenges present in our broader society. The goals of the dialogue are to:

  • Create an opportunity for social connection in this time of physical isolation and uncertainty.
  • Support knowledge creation and sharing that extends beyond books and published materials.
  • The theme of the dialogue will focus on collective resilience and how we draw on our personal strengths and social supports during times of challenge.

How to Tame Your Money

Tuesday, Oct, 20 | 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.

While most CU students would claim to aspire to financial goals (paying off student loans, owning a home, saving for the future), recent studies show that a large percentage of people between the ages of 25-40 are deeply in debt, living from paycheck to paycheck, and highly stressed about their financial lives.  Attend this seminar, presented by Elevations Credit Union, to discuss ways to keep in control of your finances.  During this hour, we will cover:

Stay! Creating a Spending Plan

  • Reality check of basic needs vs. little luxuries
  • Money management tools

Buy… Building Good Credit

  • How credit scores affect your costs and your life
  • Paying off debt

Grow? Starting a Savings Plan

  • Emergency funds
  • Small steps for starting a savings plan

Participants will leave with more knowledge of budgeting, spending plans and savings.

Many people between the ages of 25-40 are in debt and living from paycheck to paycheck. Attend this seminar, presented by Elevations credit Union to discuss tangible ways to keep in control of your finances.
