Run of show

  • 5:00-7:00 a.m.—Live interviews with CU Boulder spokespeople available
  • 6:45 a.m.—Folsom Field opens
  • 7:00 a.m.—Walk with CU media relations to Norlin Quad for student interviews
  • 7:15-7:45 a.m.—Interview opportunities with students, commencement speaker Emma Coburn and Chancellor Justin Schwartz
  • 7:50 a.m.—Stage for video of processional
  • 8:00 a.m.—Processional begins
  • 8:20 a.m.—Media must be inside Folsom Field
  • 8:30 a.m.—Commencement ceremony begins
  • 11 a.m. (roughly)—Commencement ceremony ends
  • 12 p.m. (roughly)—Folsom Parking Garage reopens

A media workroom is available throughout and after the ceremony. Media must be accompanied by a member of CU Boulder media relations to access the workroom.

About this year’s ceremony

  • Three-time track Olympian, NCAA national champion and CU Boulder alumna Emma Coburn will deliver the 2025 Commencement address.
  • Chancellor Justin Schwartz will give his first commencement speech as chancellor.
