Olivia Krohn

Biography:
Olivia is a physicist who studies ion-neutral gas phase chemical reactions in ultra-high vacuum conditions.  She earned her BS in Physics as a Smittcamp Honors Scholar at California State University Fresno. Olivia worked with CSU Fresno Professor Yongsheng Gao on a collaborative project with the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN.  This work sent her to Switzerland for an exciting summer of High Energy Physics research!  In addition, Oliva worked on the DarkSide-50 project (a dark matter detection experiment) as an REU Program participant at UCLA.  Following the completion of her undergraduate work, Olivia came to CU Boulder to study AMO & Chemical Physics.  She is pleased to have found her research fit Heather Lewandowski’s group.  Olivia enjoys that her research is multifaceted, combining hands-on experimentation with computer simulations and crossing the boundaries between chemistry and physics.
