Welcome to MASP! We are so happy to have you join our program. Please see the information below to learn more about the next steps to take as you transition into the MASP community.

Please make sure to read through the MASP Scholar Agreement that was sent along with your MASP invitation email. By accepting your MASP invitation, you are agreeing to the terms stated in our Scholar Agreement .

You can also visit our Scholarship Requirements page for further information and also to learn about additional scholarship opportunities.

Then please review your Participation Requirements to make sure you can meet all the requirements.

You can visit our Program Resources page to learn about the different resources offered by MASP, which you are now welcome to use/utilize!

For students who joined through PEAC:
Please set up a mentor meeting on BuffPortal to meet with your assigned faculty mentor sometime during the beginning of the semester.

For students who joined as current CU students:
Once you confirm your acceptance, the MASP staff will register you as a MASP student on BuffPortal (this process can take up to two days). Once you gain access on BuffPortal Advising, you will need to set up an initial meeting with your assigned faculty mentor (as specified in the email) within a couple of weeks. At this meeting, you will go over the MASP Scholarship Agreement in detail and discuss your academic plan for the semester.

For students who joined as current CU students:
Once you confirm your acceptance, you should receive an email invitation to join MASP's Slack Channel and also MASP's Canvas page. We are currently using Slack as the main point of communication along with email so please make sure to download it on your phone and/or on your computer (and have your notifications on). Students will use the MASP Canvas page for community event calendar, tutoring information, participation points tracker and more.

For students who joined through PEAC:
If you haven't registered for a MASP class during PEAC, please make sure to do so before the start of the Fall semester and as soon as possible by emailing the MASP team (masp@colorado.edu).

For students who joined as current CU students:
All MASP students are required to take a series of MASP courses, generally in their first and second years of joining MASP. However, for students who are joining as current CU students instead of as an incoming first-year through PEAC, here are the revised requirements:

  • If you joined MASP as a second-year student, you will be required to take 3 MASP classes instead of 4
  • Third-year students will need to take 2 MASP classes
  • Fourth-year students will need to take 1 MASP class

Depending on when you joined during the semester, you may be able to register for a MASP seminar right away. If you joined before the enrollment window, you will be able to register later in the semester. Course schedule and information can be found on our website.

Here are multiple ways to further engage in the MASP community:

  • By joining a MASP club (student-led programs)
    • There are a variety of clubs including Pre-Health Society, Pre-Law Club, Art Club, Book Club, Volunteering Club and more
  • By participating in study groups (with a tutor or a student-led ones)
  • By participating in MASP accountability groups

Please contact our Administrative Assistant to find out how to get involved and about more ways to get connected with other MASP students!
