Austin received his dual BS/MS degree in mechanical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology. There, his research focused on metal additive manufacturing to create micro and macrostructures for pool boiling enhancement. He is interested in applying additive manufacturing to the renewable energy sector. He came to CU, not only for the mountains, but also to explore AM and functional printing for wind turbine generators. In his free time he enjoys swimming, hiking, and exploring!
