Alexa Koenig is a research professor at Berkeley Law and co-faculty director of UC Berkeley’s MacArthur award-winning Human Rights Center, where she also leads the center’s Investigations Program. In addition to directing the development of the Berkeley Protocol on Digital Open Source Investigations, Koenig helped establish, and for many years co-chaired, the Technology Advisory Board for the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court; co-chaired the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Law Committee; and is an advisory board member of Physicians for Human Rights. She is the co-author and co-editor of several books, including Digital Witness, Graphic: Trauma and Meaning in Our Online Lives, Hiding in Plain Sight and At an Intersection: Using Online Sources to Investigate Conflict-Related Sexual and Gender-Based Crimes.
