Leah is a PhD student studying motor recovery and skill acquisition after neurological injury. Her passion for working with individuals with spinal cord injuries began in 2018 during a summer internship at NeuAbility, an adaptive fitness gym. She went on to earn a degree in Health and Exercise Science from Colorado State University in 2021 and started graduate school as a master’s student in 2023. Captivated by the world of research, she transitioned to a PhD program in 2025 to investigate the cortical mechanisms that promote motor recovery. Outside the lab, Leah enjoys skiing, hiking, and spending time with her dog, Murphy.
