- Research interests: disease ecology, parasitology, marine ecosystems, host-parasite interactions

I joined the Johnson Lab as a PhD student in the Fall of 2024. I received a B.S. in Environment and Sustainability from Cornell University and an M.S. in Marine Science from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, College of William & Mary. I am broadly interested in how parasites and diseases shape aquatic environments, and how anthropogenic stressors affect those dynamics. In the Johnson lab, I hope to combine fieldwork and modeling to understand the role of parasites in coral reef ecosystems, with specific focus on Black Spot Syndrome of tropical fish. I’m also committed to public outreach, science communication, and education, and look forward to developing my teaching and mentorship skills throughout my graduate degree. In my free time I enjoy running, swimming, hiking, reading, and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
