The Impact of Drought on Disease
Dr. Pieter Johnson recently co-authored a paper with Dr. Tara Stewart Merrill that discusses the impacts of drought on host-parasite interactions. This paper has received some attention in the press, as Colorado and the rest of the country are experiencing intense drought conditions. While some diseases can decrease in prevalence due to drought, others may increase as hosts concentrate themselves around limited water sources.
