Both graduate students Wynne Moss and Travis McDevitt-Galles successfully completed their Phd's and landed competitive post-doctoral positions. Wynne is examining the ecological impacts of drought and aims to produce collaborative science that informs management decision-making while she works with the Conservation Sciences Partners. Her plan is to connect ecological theory to conservation practices – using approaches she gained while in the Johnson Laboratory and during her Masters at University of Wisconsin. Travis landed a post-doctoral position at the USGS National Wildlife Health Center where he is working with Dan Grear on investigating phenology shifts in climate change related to wildlife. More specificially, he working with the USGS Powell Center to get better resolution for forecasting mosquito populations for the US by developing mechanistic and statistical models to investigate the problem.
