Shannon Leslie

Shannon grew up in Irvine, CA. For college, she went to UC Berkeley where she got her B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in neuroscience. She did her undergraduate honors thesis in the lab of Dr. Li Gan at UC San Francisco studying the role of progranulin in Frontotemporal Dementia. She got her PhD from the Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program at Yale University studying the molecular mechanisms of aging and Alzheimer’s Disease in Dr. Angus Nairn’s lab, working in close collaboration with Dr. Amy Arnsten. Shannon is passionate about sharing the joy she finds in science with others! Outside of science she enjoys spending time with her pup, hiking, running, snowboarding, and baking.
