SMART participants have the opportunity to complete and present a research project and take part in weekly workshops that will prepare them for graduate school. SMART is designed to help students define educational and career goals, and we hope that many will become the faculty and researchers of tomorrow. We need talent and diverse points of view to contribute to our nation’s college classrooms and scholarly efforts.

In addition to academic pursuits, we invite students to take advantage of the social activities organized by our community of SMART graduate student advisors. As part of a group of SMART students, interns will work together to create a community based on their shared experiences during the 10-week program. Many SMART students remain in touch with us and each other long after the summer ends, and some return to CU Boulder to enroll in our PhD programs.
