A note for prospective students

Thank you for your interest in the Machine Learning group at the University of Colorado Boulder. Current CU students and postdocs at all levels are welcome to contact me. Typically I only consider students for research after they have taken a course with me.

Postdocs 

If and when I am looking for postdocs, I will announce it, and make every effort to respond to serious queries that clearly demonstrate shared research interests.

PhD candidates

Given the high volume of email I receive, I will not be able reply individually, nor comment on your admissions chances. You should apply directly to the Computer Science PhD program through CU’s College of Engineering and Applied Science admissions page. If you are interested in working with me, please indicate this on your application. Applications are handled by an admissions committee. When looking for students, I will consider applicants whose preparation and research interests are strongly related to work in my group.

Masters candidates 

For any questions about admission to the Masters program, please contact admissions.

Other 

It is very unlikely/rare for me to host other positions, such as summer internships or visiting positions.
