As of Monday, October 17, 2022, masks are no longer required. Long pants and closed toe shoes are always required.

  • On Friday of each week, sign up for slots starting Saturday through the following Friday.

To schedule a biological safety cabinet (BSC) you will need to reserve an appropriate amount of time in the hood that you want to use. Use the Google Calendars to book time. You will gain access to the Google Calendars once you have completed training for the Cell Culture Facility. Access to the viral BSC will only be granted once you talk to Theresa and go through a separate training on how to work with viruses and proper donning and doffing of equipment. If you can't make your appointment, please cancel it online. You may only sign up for the current week or your appointment will be deleted.

There are two biosafety cabinets in room B. You will only get access to the BSC on the right side of the room once you complete the orientation for the Cell Culture Facility.  The BSC on the left is used by the staff to prepare media and aliquot the media supplements.

There are two biosafety cabinets in room C. Each has their own separate Google Calendar that you will get access to once you complete the orientation for the Cell Culture Facility.

There are two biosafety cabinets in room D. Each has their own separate Google Calendar. You will get access to one of the biosafety cabinets (D-Right) once you complete the orientation for the Cell Culture Facility.  The other biosafety cabinet is being used by the Palmer lab.

There are three biosafety cabinets in room F. Two of the biosafety cabinets have their own separate Google Calendar that you will get access to once you complete the orientation for the Cell Culture Facility. The calendar F-Left is for the biosafety cabinet that is on the left wall towards the back of the room. But, if you sign up for time on the F-Left calendar you are more than welcome to use the hood on the right hand side of the room that is closer to the door.

BSC Room H Calendar

There are three biosafety cabinets (BSC) in room H. Each has their own separate Google Calendar. You will get access to one biosafety cabinet once you complete the orientation for the Cell Culture Facility. One of the BSC is used by the Rinn lab while the other is used for viral work. You will get access to the viral hood Google Calendar once you talk to Theresa about your project and learn how to work in the viral hood.
