CU Ski Bus Program

ski snow

This season we will focus our efforts and only serve Ikon mountains. The Ikon Pass is the most popular with CU students and the student run Boulder Freeride organization has great pricing for the pass.

There are a limited number of Ski Bus tickets available for each trip. Trips will often sell out in advance. Some standby tickets are available for purchase on the morning of each trip (even on sold-out trips).

Ticket Information

Regular Tickets

Regular ticket holders may purchase one (1) regular ($25) ticket for a non-student guest.

In the event of extreme inclement weather conditions, an email and text will be sent to the contact information that you provided when purchasing your ticket(s) cancellation or delay information. Tickets for trips that we've canceled may be exchanged for a future date or refunded.

Regular tickets are available for $25 (roundtrip) for current University of Colorado at Boulder students, faculty, and staff. There are 60 regular tickets available for each trip.

People not affiliated with the University of Colorado at Boulder are not eligible to purchase or receive tickets for the Ski Bus under any circumstances except the following:

  • Each University student, staff, or faculty member that purchases a ticket is eligible to purchase one (1) ticket for a non-University-affiliated guest. The University student, staff, or faculty member must board the bus on the day of the trip in order for the guest to be allowed to board the bus.
Standby Tickets

We also offer standby tickets on the morning of the bus trip. You can pick up the bus as a stand-by at any bus stop, however we can only guarantee your spot at the Farrand Fields stop. If you get on at an earlier spot and there is no available seat at Farrand you will have to get off the bus and we will not be supplying a ride back home (this has never happened though). They are only available on a space-available basis to fill empty seats on the bus, and will be sold for $25 (via credit card). These tickets are not guaranteed to be available, but typically we have between eight and fifteen seats available on the morning of the trip due to no-shows. To date, we have never turned down a patron hoping to purchase a standby ticket.

Change and Refund Policy

The policy has shifted from a strict "no refunds" policy to a more flexible one. You may also sell your ticket to another student at face-value ($25).

  1. Refund Request Window: Students can now request a refund, but they need to do so at least 7 days in advance of the event.
  2. Refund Deduction: Eventbrite fees will be deducted from the refund amount. This implies that the student won't receive the full ticket price back, as a portion will go towards covering Eventbrite's fees.
  3. Refund Options: Students have two options for the refunded amount - they can either get a refund to their credit card or opt for a credit that can be used for future ski bus ticket purchases.
