Indya’s appreciation and love for nature started at a very young age growing up in the foothills of the Himalayas in India. She grew up with the understanding of the sacredness of nature and ways to honor and be respectful of the interconnectivity between nature and all its inhabitants as well as being respectful of each other being key to balance for sustainability.
In 2017 FLOWS was hosting a community event at a BHP property that Indya lived in, she was immediately drawn to FLOWS and their mission and vision resonated deeply with her. Indya’s passion and commitment to social and climate justice perfectly aligned with FLOWS values. It was a match made in heaven and she joined FLOWS as a volunteer technician. She is committed to FLOWS’s mission and has been able to take on different roles with FLOWS. FLOWS has opened up many doors for Indya to explore, learn, and have a deeper understanding of social and climate injustices especially for the BIPOC, immigrant and low-income communities, the communities she belongs to.
When she isn’t working you can find her hiking, camping, gardening, dancing, volunteering, and spending time with her daughter, family and friends.
