Student Organizations and CU Sport Clubs 

 

CU Mountain Bike Club is all about building a community of riders who love to hit the trails together. Whether you're into group rides, digging in on trail-building days or heading out on epic biking adventures, they are here to connect you with the people and places that make mountain biking awesome. 

 

CU Cycling Team has been crushing it since the first Collegiate Nationals back in 1987. With over 60 individual national champs and 12 team titles under their belt, they’ve made their mark on the road and the track. They’ve also taken home the Overall Team Omnium at 12 national championships. Many of their riders have gone pro after graduation, proving that Buffs can ride with the best. 

 

CU Triathlon brings together students who thrive on endurance, good food and great company. This spirited team competes with club programs across the country and proudly holds 18 national titles. But it’s not just about racing—CU Tri is all about community. Whether someone’s new to the sport or a seasoned triathlete, everyone is welcome to train, travel and have fun together. 

Local Organizations and Events

Bicycle Colorado is at the heart of a growing movement to make biking better for everyone—whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just curious about getting started. The organization works across the state to advocate for riders, build community and create safer, more accessible spaces to ride. Boulder Cruiser Ride has been lighting up Thursday nights for nearly 30 years with its one-of-a-kind bike rides. These slow-roll rides are all about fun—think bikes decked out in lights, music and spontaneous dance parties. It’s a celebration of creativity, community and keeping Boulder delightfully weird. Everyone is welcome! 

Boulder Mountainbike Alliance is all about building better trails and stronger community connections through mountain biking. Active across Boulder County, the group hosts social rides, organizes trail workdays and advocates for access and sustainability.  

Community Cycles empowers people to choose bikes for everyday transportation by making cycling safer, more sustainable and more accessible. Through hands-on education, advocacy and community programs, they help riders gain confidence, independence and a deeper connection to their city. 

Ned Gravel is a high-energy, all-levels gravel ride set in the stunning mountain town of Nederland, CO. It’s designed to be fun, inclusive and just the right amount of challenging—perfect for riders looking to push themselves, meet new people and soak up some serious scenery. 

Thank Gravel It’s Friday is a weekly celebration of community, adventure and self-expression on two wheels. Born from a love of gravel trails and good company, this inclusive ride welcomes everyone to show up as they are, challenge themselves and support one another. It’s not about racing to win—it’s about riding for the joy of it, cheering on friends and leaving each ride feeling energized and connected. 

Without Limits Productions designs races that feel personal, fun and totally dialed-in—whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned competitor. Since 2007, their goal has been simple: create the kind of events their own crew would want to race. That means affordable entry fees, a laid-back vibe and every detail handled so participants can focus on one thing—crossing the finish line with a smile. 

Boulder Alleycat invites riders of all levels to experience the thrill of urban racing in a welcoming, community-driven atmosphere. Whether someone’s chasing a personal best, cruising with friends or just soaking in the energy of the ride, there’s a place for them here. The group values inclusivity, fair competition and a shared commitment to building a vibrant, sustainable cycling culture. 

Boulder Cycling Club is a go-to community for anyone in the area who loves exploring roads or trails on two wheels. Whether it’s pavement or dirt, this club brings together riders who want to stay active, meet new people and enjoy the ride—no matter their pace or experience level. 

Cassiopeia is a cycling collective built to empower riders to connect, express themselves and grow—on and off the bike. While open to all, Cassiopeia puts women at the forefront, creating space for them to lead, shine and ride strong. 

Cyclists 4 Community is working to make Boulder County a safer, more bike-friendly place for everyone on two wheels. By teaming up with local governments and community groups, they’re building coalitions, shaping policy and pushing for better bike infrastructure. It’s all about creating a cycling culture that’s inclusive, sustainable and built to last. 

Rapha hosts weekly group rides that roll out from their local clubhouses, welcoming both regulars and visitors alike. Whether someone’s new to town or just passing through, it’s a chance to join a social spin, meet others and enjoy the ride together. 

Venus Bike Club is a non-competitive cycling group built on connection, encouragement and the joy of riding together. Centered around sisterhood and support, the club offers a welcoming space for women to explore cycling, build confidence and form lasting friendships—no matter their experience level.
