Cooper Baldwin

  • Chairman
Cooper Baldwin is the chairman of the Distinguished Speakers Board. A senior at the University of Colorado Boulder, majoring in both political science and communication and receiving a certificate in European Union studies, he was born in upstate New York and grew up in Maine and San Antonio, Texas before moving to Colorado.
Cooper first joined the Board as a freshman in fall 2022 and was elected Director of Operations in spring 2023, serving in that role for the 2023-2024 academic year. In spring 2024, he was elected chairman of the Board for the 2024-2025 term, and was re-elected the following spring for the 2025-2026 term.
Passionate about public service, community connection, democratic integrity and communication, Baldwin has tenaciously led DSB to pursue new opportunities and challenge the traditional definition of what a fully-run student organization is, what it does and what it can be. He places the Board's constituents - students - at the center of every decision, aiming only to do what's in their best and most beneficial interest.
Cooper is a seasoned political campaign operative with 6 years of experience across multiple state legislature and congressional races. He is a skilled communicator and brings his background in policy, organization, outreach and public relations to his role on the Board. He is a two-time participant in the U.S. Department of State's Critical Language Scholarship and deeply values cross-cultural exposure, interaction and engagement.
Outside of class and DSB, Cooper enjoys skiing, cooking, gardening, writing and graphic design. However, he is a self-described "social solar panel" and enjoys nothing more than a good conversation or time with friends.
