How to Read an A9 Label

Understanding what’s in your food shouldn’t be a mystery. Our A9 labels make it easy to identify allergens, dietary preferences and nutrition highlights at a glance. This guide walks you through each part of the label so you can make confident, informed choices every time you dine on campus.

  • If an allergen is listed in blue writing, it means that the menu item contains the allergen.
  • If a dietary preference is listed in red writing, it means that the item contains alcohol and/or pork.

A Smart Pick Icon identifies a healthy food or beverage that is approved by Campus Dining’s Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Recommendations are guided by the USDA Dietary guidelines for Americans.

LO means that an item is Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarian and can contain: dairy, eggs and honey, but no meat, poultry or fish.

V means that an item is vegan and does not contain any animal products in its ingredient list.
